History :
Miniac-Morvan, city dating from the year 1150, seems to
have inherited its name its first lords Morvan of Miniac .
Miniac Morvan can also have for origin « MOR WAN »
men of sea, what seems logical bus although a primarily rural parish, it
was always a tank of sailors for the malouins ships (voyages of
exploration, races, milked Blacks, small and great fishing).
Of its past it kept a church of the 18th century with a furnace bridge
and a retable out of wooden carved of the 17th century; several castles,
manors and vaults; a monument megalithic « the walk shady with four es feins » ; it had also the Mare Saint Coulban, old arm of the sea which was filled
little by little and where still tree trunks fossilized appear in « couérons ».
Like all Brittany, the city was devastated by epidemics of “dyssentery”
in particular in 1741 and 1779.
Among its remarkable characters, we can cite :
·
Les Crambert,
dynasty of masters surgeons and surgeons sailing at the 18th century
·
Pierre Corbinais
(1761-1793) innkeeper at the time of transfered of Salerme, summoned by
the
Vendéens ones to shout « live the king » it answered
them « live the republic and d…. for your king » and it was cut
down
·
